Cleanse Your Body, Mind & Space Simply
Have you taken the opportunity to cleanse this Spring? Our body naturally likes to detox in the spring time. It’s a time of renewal for both the planet and our bodies. Cleansing can be simple, fun and rejuvenating. Here are a few tips to get you started and energized now.
1. Hydrate! So simple, yet so many people are chronically dehydrated. Regularly flushing out the kidneys and bladder with H2O ensures that dead cells and other waste products can be expelled before they reach toxic levels. My favorite is alkaline water which is extra hydrating and detoxifying.
Chew on This
When it comes to increased health, it’s not just what we eat but how we eat. Digestion actually begins in the mouth, where digestive enzymes in our saliva break down food. But these days most of us rush through the whole eating experience, barely acknowledging what we’re putting in our mouths. We eat while distracted—working, reading, talking and watching television—and swallow our food practically whole. On average we chew each bite only eight times. It’s no wonder that many people have digestive problems.
Create a New You in the New Year
A lot of people begin the New Year by making resolutions. We’ve all been there. We take a vow to lose weight, exercise more or spend more time with our family. We start the year with great intentions, but then we quickly relapse into old habits. Why is it so hard to stick to those New Year’s resolutions?
Here are some ways you can make your intentions a reality this year:
1. Write down your intentions and keep them in a visible place, like taped to your bedroom mirror or the dashboard of your car.
21 Effective Energy Boosting Techniques
Do you wake up full of energy and excitement for the day? If you answered no, you are not alone. We Americans work hard and play hard, which usually leads to depletion on many levels—physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I know this all too well as I am a recovering Type A personality who burned herself out at a young age. Chronic fatigue and depression were a constant in my life for more than 10 years.
Become a Health Coach
One of the most exciting things about being a Health Coach is showing others that EVERY body is different. Instead of teaching a one-size-fits-all approach, health coaches are trained in various dietary methods as well as life coaching in order to a create a customized holistic lifestyle plan that guides the client to a healthier and happier life. I've seen first hand the powerful connection between what we eat and how we feel and as a Health Coach I find it so inspiring to watch my clients discover this for themselves too.
Your July Challenge--Try Something New
This month, choose one thing you have never done before and just do it! Here are some ideas for your adventure: organize a kayak trip, take a dance class, do some traveling or set a goal for a new personal challenge. Or try something simple, especially if you are the adventurous type already, like reading in the sunshine with no distractions.
Are you hesitant to break your routine? Fear and excitement have the same physiological expression in our bodies; it is our mind that classifies the feeling as either positive or negative. So the next time you consider a change in routine and your mind says “scary!” see if you can re-frame it as “exciting!”

There is a saying that goes, “You have to get rid of the old to make way for the new.” If you are feeling stuck or stagnant in your life, try spring-cleaning. Throw out some of that stuff, say goodbye to your past and welcome the new energy of your happy, healthy future. |
